Decorative Lighting Pieces

Sometimes you put up a light fixture mainly for its decorative attribute. Wall sconces are such. You don’t really expect them to provide functional lighting on their own. You just want to fill up a blank wall with something decorative. Wall sconces actually provide some diffused lighting but they cannot really be relied on as a singular source of light even in a small room.

Being decorative pieces, they come in a variety of designs. Wrought iron wall sconces usually come in dark finish that reminds of old world iron. The dark shade contrasts with the glass diffuser that comes with it. Aside from design, sconces are chosen based on the desired lighting effect. Some have bulbs pointing outwards for light that strikes the ceiling. Others point downwards to focus on something located close to the floor.
