You will want the best quality of bedding for your nursery. The crib mattress should be from two to four inches thick to give the most comfort to the baby. Choose the mattress cover that will stretch and fit tightly. Organic beddings are recommended. These are 100% natural cotton that will not hurt the baby in any way; instead it will provide protection against allergies that are sometimes caused by synthetic fibers.
Of course, you would also want to think about the looks. Baby bedding designs can be sweet and cute, as in pink and floral; patterned, as in striped in bold colors or pristine, as in plain white or in very light colors. Think about the fastness of the colors. Baby beddings will require a lot of washing so it is best to choose colors that will not fade easily. This will save you from frequent trips to the bedding store.
