Ceramic tiles are fairly easy to install. The internet can provide you with detailed steps on how to install ceramic tile. But before you start actually laying down tile pieces there are certain basic pre-requisites. First, you will need a smooth sub-floor to support the installation. It should be perfectly level to make sure that the tiles will not crack.
Tile floorings come in a whole range of choices. You may have to install a different kind of tile in different parts of your home. High traffic areas such as the kitchen and living room will require more durable flooring. Choose double fired ceramic tiles that are less likely to crack. You might also want to use glazed tiles in the kitchen. They are less likely to stain and are easier to clean. Bathrooms and kitchens are moisture susceptible. Ceramic tiles with high permeability should be avoided.
