The window is a part of the house that has several elements. If you are embarking on a window repair, you might be dealing with fixing a broken window glass, replacing window screens or simply just unsticking a window. A window that sticks is usually caused by paint that has dried up. This can be solved by pushing the blade of a stiff putty knife or paint scraper into the joint and cutting through the paint. Do this in all the joints.
Repairing a broken window glass can be another problem with a window. It is not at all a difficult thing to do. You will need to buy replacement glass, cut to measure, in hardware or glass stores. First you remove the broken glass from the frame. Using a chisel, remove old putty. When everything is cleaned out, install the new glass and seal with putty. Press hard enough to squeeze out air bubbles and force some of the compound out of the frame.
