clawfoot tubs

When my husband and I were designing our new home we went to all the home and furnishing stores near our area. We looked at tiles, ceilings, fixtures, paint etc. The most fun part was decorating our bedrooms and bathrooms. I wanted a vintage feel to our bathroom so I chose clawfoot tubs for our master bathroom and the guest bath room. I also chose curtains instead of blinds and chandeliers in the dining room.
Clawfoot tubs are bath tubs that have legs, or in this case feet. They are suspended or held up by the feet. The clawfoot tubs are bolted to the ground on all four clawfeet. In the case of most modern bathtubs, the entire tub is cemented to the ground. There is no space between the tub and the floor. They are called clawfoot tubs because their legs or feet are heavy that they look more like claws.
