formal living room furniture

My husband and I are dreaming of owning or own home soon. We’ve gone through several design magazines and books and have visited a few homes whose design we like. One thing we both agree on is that we want two living rooms. They don’t have to be big; it could just be a one big room split into two. One portion would have formal living room furniture and the other would have cozy casual furniture.

For the longest time, I have preferred the minimalist style. I did not like classic formal living room furniture which I considered to be too bulky. Just recently however, I discovered vintage chic. I realized formal living room furniture could be mixed with vintage and even modern pieces. My favorite color red which is not exactly a popular choice for interiors could be used as accent.
