Love the ocean but live miles away from it? Then why not bring it to your home! You can by designing your interiors around a nautical theme. Invest in nautical home decor that brings the vibrancy and power of the ocean within your living interiors. Start by incorporating colors of the sky, sea and sand through the extensive use of the colors blue, green and neutral paint. Then punctuate them with a vibrant color red to evoke nautical timelessness.
Other finishing touches that you can also incorporate are sailboat lamps, lighthouse sculptures, small ship inside a bottle, a big aquarium with your favorite fish and corals, a helm wall clock, and an old rowboat cabinet. Cabinet doorknobs may be shaped like a sailboat, the sun, shell or a palm tree. Other nautical home decor ideas you can add are life rings, a canoe or old oars hanged on walls for accent. For your living room’s center table, place a wide mouthed barrel containing sand, pictures of family members, and seashells.
