colonial wood chairs
In the movie “The Patriot”, the opening sequence shows Mel Gibson attempting and failing to assemble his own chair. Gibson’s character was obsessed with creating those classic colonial wood chairs. Unfortunately, he lacked the skills to create a sturdy chair that would hold him comfortably. Colonial wood chairs however, in reality are as strong as they are comfortable. The styles tend to be wide with arm rests and are perfect for porches, lounges and living room corners.
One of the most common images of colonial wood chairs is that of old ladies knitting while sitting on them. These chairs seem to evoke simple, country style living. They also add a touch of vintage to our homes. These chairs are perfect for outdoors because they’re so easy to clean. They might not be preferred by couch potatoes, but they certainly have charm of their own.
