Gel candles

They burn longer than wax candles because they are made from mineral oil and plastic polymer. Gel candles are also easy to make and they can be a great gift idea. All you need to do is stick a wick in an attractive container. Heat small cubes of gel wax and cook it over medium heat. Maintain a temperature of 200 degrees F until the gel is smooth and syrupy.

At this point you can already pour the melted wax into the container. However, there are still a lot of things you can do to enhance the look of your gel candles. You can put in color by adding liquid dye. You can also add the fragrance of your choice. You can even embed objects such as stones, shells or glitter for an even attractive look.
