Several years ago, I visited a house that had a lot of candles as décor. The house was owned by a lady named Aurora who loved scented candles. In her living room, she had a large clam shell that acted like a micro pond. In this pond she had little round floating candles that were all lit. It would be much later on that I would discover that these candles were called tea light candles. I also recently discovered the charm of having a tea light candle holder in the bathrooms.

Tea light candles refer to small candles that fit easily in the palm of your hand. They are usually round, however there are also tea light candles available in different shapes such as hearts and squares. These tea lights usually have a light aluminum foil as holder. This tea light candle holder enables the tea light candles to float. The sight of floating candles especially at night is so romantic. Another alternative to an aluminum tea light candle holder would be small glasses, plastic cases and round cans.
