If you are looking for quality bed sheets you will have to consider thread count, fabric and how it is put together. Egyptian cotton sheets are considered the best. They are made from Egyptian cotton that has extra long fibers that translates into durability. They also have the enviable quality of being soft and highly absorbent. Aside from sheets this material is also used in quality blankets, towels and crib sets for babies.

Thread count is another measure of quality in bed sheets. It refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads in one square inch of fabric. Thread count in sheets can range from 80 to 700, although the one commonly available range from 180 to 320. The higher the thread count, the softer the fabric feels. However, they are also heavier and can be a bit more difficult to manage. In looking for good quality beddings, it is important also to check if seams are properly sewn and that the manufacturer did not scrimp on the fabric such that it does not cover the whole side of the mattress.
