What are Bidets and Bidet Toilet Seats?

Bidet is a French word meaning pony. It is also the name given to a low-mounted plumbing fixture intended for washing the lower parts of the body. Primarily used for the private parts, bidets are also found convenient for washing the feet. Early designs of the bidet showed them as a separate fixture in the bathroom. The unfamiliar often thought of them as a urinal or toilet.

Bidet toilet seats are fixtures that are installed on the toilet. Modern bidet toilet seats have come a long way. They have heated seats, electronically controlled temperature and water pressure. Using them is as easy as pushing buttons on the control panel. Push a button and a nozzle will extend and start spraying. Push another button to adjust pressure. Push the stop button and the nozzle retracts.
