A baby is truly our bundle of joy. This is the reason why we strive to keep her protected all the time. Receiving blankets provide the baby with her much needed comfort and protection. They can be handmade or some are available off-the-shelves. Their typical size is 30 inches square. They are available in plain colors or printed with lovely and dainty designs.
Receiving blankets can be made of various materials that are best for the baby’s sensitive skin. Among all other fabrics, 100% cotton is the most popular because it is known to be soft and smooth. These blankets are considered a necessity because it keeps the baby warm. Hospitals use them to wrap newborns tightly so they could lessen the shock of being outside the mother’s womb.
