New age belief talk about the essence of life. I believe in that. I believed everything is made out of energy and therefore alive. To capture the essence of life is what the world is about. To be successful in anything, bring out its essence. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look at your favorite artwork. I don’t care what artwork it is. It might be graffiti, dance or landscape painting. Why are you attracted to it? Why is it calling out to you? My answer to that is the artist capture the essence of their artwork. Look at Michael Jordan. Even non basketball players appreciate his moves. The reason, he captured the true essence of playing basketball. The trick to a successful life is to find the medium in which to show your art. For me, it is plein air art.
Plein air art is open air painting or painting in the outdoors. For me, good plein air art should capture the feeling of the artist when he painted the art piece. If he was cold or sad when he painted the art piece, his artwork should show it. If the artist is able to do that, then he has captured the essence of the subject as well as his own essence. That to me is a great art piece.
